I hear all the time about how much people don't like social media. They feel it's too invasive or they feel like their social lives are on display. This opinion confuses me because sometimes I wonder if these individuals know just how much they themselves use social media.
A lot of what we learn about, talk about, and engage with comes from our conversations on social media. There's the color of the dress discussion, the release of popular Netflix series, or even what happens in Hollywood.
While social media can feel invasion at times, I choose to look at it as a way to connect with my virtual friends from around the world. I have social media to thank for a few of my jobs, friends I've made, and social and political issues I've learned.
Perhaps it's not the prying of information, but the now-very-public information we can take in regarding just about everything that scares people...
