Throughout the semester, I was given the task of creating content and sharing it on a blog. This was a task assigned by my CAP105, Technology in Advertising & PR, professor and I'm so happy she did.
Throughout the course of the semester, I was challenged to brainstorm and write about a variety of topics within my field. I was also challenged to get outside of my comfort zone and network with other local professionals. Because of this class, I believe my ability to brainstorm has improved; I've connected with some wonderful local professionals; and I've accomplished my goal of creating and maintaining my own blog.
While the class might be over, I am going to continue writing for this blog. In the 12 weeks the class has been in session, I've seen the power of maintaining a blog. It shows future employers I know how to write and be a self-starter. Maintaining a blog also showcases that I can meet deadlines and follow through.
I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to develop a blog, no matter the profession. A blog can be a place to share information, teach a new skill, review products, and even host a conversation. Blogging is an valuable asset to any portfolio and free to get started.
